A leading youth advocacy movement in Enugu State, Coal City Youths Development Initiative has reiterated it’s resolve to continue to partner relevant agencies in educating and sensitizing citizens especially in the rural areas on the importance of obtaining their voter cards.
The group stated this in Enugu during her general meeting which attracted members from all the local government areas of Enugu State.
According to the group’s Director General Hon. Remiguis Ozonwama, the need to engage in such sensitization became expedent to avail ordinary masses of the need to be part of decision making which the system offers every four years through the ballot.
He maintained that Coal City Youths Development Initiative will not be deterded in her struggle for the entrenchment of good governance through quality and effective representation.
“We will partner Inec and other relevant authorities to carrying out the awareness campaign because that is the only means through which one can decide the outcome of an elective process” he concluded.
The group however outlined her Program of activities for the year to include, assessment of Governor Ugwuanyi’s imprint in all the councils, new yam festival, Youth seminar, talent hunt, rigorous membership drive amongst others
Committees were subsequently setup to ensure better outcome.
The meeting which attracted the Founder of the movement and also the Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Youth Affairs Comrade Johnpaul Anih, the group’s legal team headed by Barr. C.J Ugwu, State executives, zonal and local government Coordinators including dozens of other members, witnessed other youth oriented delibrations.
