SA To Gov. Ugwuanyi On Student Affairs Assure Enugu Students Of Continuous Govt’s Support & Intervention

His Excellency the Executive Governor of Enugu state Rt.Hon.Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 visited the Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET) through the office of His Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Hon. Chidi Ilogebe. In the delegation were also other aides to the governor; Hon. Ejike Celestine Amaechi, Hon. Dika David and Hon. Darlington Ugwuegbe and other Students Stakeholders.

The delegation was received by the jubilant students led by the SUG President Comr. Precious Ogechukwu Iziga and were further welcomed by the Deputy Provost of the College, Dr.Obiora Anidi on behalf of the school Management.

While Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Hon. Chidi Ilogebe stated the tripartite aim of the epoch visit viz; to convey the goodwill of His Excellency to the college, to officially congratulate the newly elected SUG excos led by the 1st female SUG President of the College and to embark on a needs assessment exercise aimed at giving feedback to the state government on the challenges faced by the students in the college.

Responding on behalf of the management, the Deputy Provost thanked the team for coming while expressing his profound gratitude to His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the progressive projects been carried out in the school viz; the building of hostels, class rooms and departmental lecture halls, the SUG secretariat to mention just a few. He equally acknowledged the effort of His Excellency towards the success of the maiden convocation ceremony of the college.

The delegation further paid a visit to the Dean of Students affairs Dr. Mrs. Obi Otiji who expressed her concerns over the problems faced by the students. In the company of the Dean of Students and the SUG officials, the delegation inspected the Hostels and the medical centre and noted the challenges faced in these facilities. The delegation equally inspected the hostel building under construction and other buildings been built by the administration of His Excellency the Governor.

Finally Hon. Chidi Ilogebe in his interaction with the students on their adjustments to learning amidst the global pandemic took note of the challenges faced by the students which top on the burner is poor power supply, he equally extended the warm regards of the His Excellency the Governor to the entire students while the SUG President Comr. Precious Ogechukwu on behalf of the entire students expressed her gladness for the honour done to her college through the visit and requested that the S.A communicates to his excellency their gratitude for all the good works he has done and is still doing in the college.
