By Johnpaul Anih, 27 – 11 – 2020

The current show of political romance between the senator representing the good people of Enugu north at the Senate of the federal Republic of Nigeria, distinguished Sen. Chukwuka Utazi and the White lion of Enugu government house and the Executive governor of Enugu state, H.E Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi is a clear testament that there is no permanent friends, nor enemies in the language and structures of politics. This however portrays that what is so paramount is a permanent interests.

Therefore, for Senator Utazi to make a sudden U-turn and begin to align with the public diverse opinion and interest that the principle of governorship rotation in Enugu state amongst the three cultural geographical zones; namely, Enugu North- Nsukka. Enugu East- Nkanu and Enugu West- Agbaja and greater Awgu be maintained, no matter whose interest is involved. Mr. Utazi quoted saying, during the Odimma Nsukka unity rally held in Enugu north over a week ago by all the sons and daughters of Enugu north senatorial zone, with a total mandate to solidify with their son governor with all his economic blueprint and developmental vision for the people of the state.

This was captured in an online trending video where people’s senator was appreciating the governor for his numerous achievements for the state, especially for Enugu north zone, however reminded Ugwuanyi that he is still remain the Executive governor of the state, no matter what, as such should use the remaining 2years of the administration to do more for Nsukka.

It is now more understanding to the public that the Distinguished Senator have truly realized his mistakes and seek for a political asylum from his people before the 2023 for safe landing haven had a poor performance at the floor of the Nigerian Senate over the years while neglecting the mandate of people he represents at the national assembly.

Interestingly, the political realignment in Enugu today under the leadership of our dynamic governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a thunder storm. This type of political atmosphere has never existed in the annals of the history of Enugu politics under a sitting governor. No wonder the undying love of the masses for the governor remains unchangeable.

As Senator Utazi romances with Gov. Ugwuanyi as it have been in the case of the former governor of Enugu State and the founder of Ebeano political dynasty, H.E, Distinguished Senator Chimaroke Ogbonnia Nnamani, who some months ago rolls out his political machinery in supports and owing a total allegiance to the White lion, thereby handing over his political structure to him, in furtherance of his unflinching loyalty to the leadership of the state, ably led by our general, the governor.

Therefore, out of the three Senators representing Enugu State in the national assembly, two currently with the governor and have indicated that through their public declaration of Ugwuanyi as their political leader who would by God’s divine providence will determine the future of their political journey. Also on notice are the eight national house of representatives from Enugu state, five numbers are said to be closely working with the agenda of the governor to allow power shift to Enugu East senatorial zone. And by this indications, it is possible to say that the game is over even before the much awaiting 2023.

For the purpose of equity, justice and rotation, it is become crystal clear that Enugu East will have their fair share in the lion building, come 2023.

On this note, Distinguished Senator Utazi and Former Senator Ayogu Eze are good factors when it comes to Nsukka politics, and with their fresh romance with the governor whom all of them have attested his much work for the state, Ndi Enugu will now go home and be celebrating in expectation of a smooth &peaceful transition of power to the East by the Ugwuanyi’s honest administration, come 2023.

Enugu is in the hands of God, and governor Ugwuanyi remains the only political game changer in the state.

– Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku.
