What really happened?
Nigeria once had a meek, humble, and listening president in the person of President Goodluck Ebere Jonathan, but some Nigerians humiliated, casted aspersions, insulted and made mockery of his person, wife and even his entire house hold until they voted him out in the 2015 presidential election that was characterized by well organized conspiracy.
What was GEJ’s crime?
Forget the corruption propaganda championed by the then opposition party, the APC. They only used the corruption brouhaha to make sure they find their way into the corridor of power.
GEJ was never corrupt.
Nigerians are now witnessing corruption that is not even systematically or secretly perpetuated but done In a manner that looks more like a day light robbery and public extortion.
The only crime committed by GEJ according some Nigerians is that he was weak. But they misunderstood his meekness, humility, and humane personality to be weak.
But God in his own infinite mercy gave us what we wanted. (I choose to use ‘us’ because the current president of Nigeria is the president of all Nigerians hence the use of the word “us”.
Is history not about to repeat itself in Enugu?
I am very much afraid, history may repeat itself in Enugu in near future.
God may decide to give us an answer to our prayers. Yes. He may decide to give us the “man” we earnestly desired and wish to have since we have the effrontery to label our heavenly packaged humane, meek, listening, friendly, social, kind, unifier, and peaceful, leader a “woman” and other demeaning names.
Gburugburu’s benevolence cuts across all boundaries. For him, opposition, tribe, and denomination does not exist in politics.
This, he has consistently displayed in his style of appointment and project executions.
He is Indeed a leader for all, party differences not withstanding.
His critics are even his best advisers and friends.
A frontline leader like Governor Ugwuanyi deserves our respect, loyalty, support and appreciation.
There is need to bring to an end the unnecessary attack and all manners of insults against his person currently being peddled by some unscrupulous elements and political mediocre in the state.
At this juncture, I will wish to advice ndi Enugu to stop relying on fake information that are carefully packaged and disseminated by mischief makers who want by all means to tarnish the good reputation and goodwill of our amiable governor for their selfish reasons and interest.
Finally, let me leave you with this short Bible quotation taken from Romans 13:1:3 “everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
