“…Battle Slained Soldier Doesn’t Live To Fight For Another Day”
My attention has been drawn to the reality that hoodlums have infiltrated and hijacked the protest in Enugu which has been peaceful since it began and turned it to a violent one. On this note, Enugu Youths should boycott the on going violent protest.
This became imperative on the ground that the suspected hoodlums having infiltrated the protesters, are ready to go violent and instigate the masses into turning the whole peaceful drive to violence.
Recall that the protest has been peaceful until the unwanted persons infiltrated the crowd raging for blood, destroying property and attacking fellow innocent citizens in Enugu State, especially in Abakpa, Ogui, New Haven and Nkpokiti axis in Enugu.
I condemn any plan to use force against protesters and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use his good office in ensuring that no further lives are lost because it has has gone beyond what forceful means can resolve.
Any attempt to apply forceful measures towards containing the protest will amount to inflicting more injuries in the heart of Nigerians who are already frustrated by the entire system. On no account should more lives be wasted.
The blood shed we saw in Lekki Lagos State must stop.
Citizens must be allowed to exercise their civic rights which include right to Peaceful demonstration and civil disobedience.
I urge all Enugu Youths to join hands with the leadership of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in his peace oriented governance to ensure that the peace in Enugu State is not jeopardized for whatever reason.
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the peace loving Governor has been with us and on some occasions protested with the good people of Enugu State during this protest when it was peaceful.
Enugu State Youths must maintain peace and avoid any violent gathering that might instigate the authorities to taking violence as a conflict resolution approach. Let Enugu Youths price the peace in Enugu above all things.
As we pray for the repose of the souls lost, Let’s Support the Governor in this trying time.
We shall overcome this situation stronger than ever.
