Following the brutal murder of an Enugu Youth during the “Endsars Protest” held in Lagos by one happy trigger police officer, the Leaders of all Youth Organizations in Enugu State has condemned what they described as unfortunate and callous killing of one Mr. Ikechukwu Iloamuzo who hails from Udi local government area of the state and consequently called on the Inspector General of Police Mr. Mohammed Adamu, the Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwolu and the Enugu State Govenor Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi amongst Others to do anything within their powers to bring to book the said Police officer.
The Youth leaders made this call during their Press Conference held in Enugu on Thursday.
In his speech, the State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Comrade Paschal Nnaemeka Ugwu maintained that if nothing is done about the brutal killing, the Youths of Enugu State will be left with no other option than to take to the streets inorder to press home their demands.
“We recieved with shock the news of the unfortunate and brutal killing of an Enugu Youth during the “Endsars Protest” in Lagos State. We demand for the compensation of the family of the deceased.
The happy trigger police officer Should be identified and brought to book
“We Condemn the murder of this youth and demand for the immediate arrest of the trigger happy policeman”
They further described the action of the Security Agencies which led to the death of many Youths including that of the Enugu in that Peaceful Protest as unfortunate, condemnable and has no justification whatsoever.
“As a Constituency, we join other good spirited Nigerians especially Ndi Enugu to condemn this unfortunate incidence”
“We call on our leaders, especially the Governors of the South East to rise to the occasion and strongly condemn this callous killing of our Youths and take further steps to forestall future occurrence”
On his part, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Affairs Comrade Johnpaul Anih while condeming the incidence, reassured of the government’s determination to continue to be responsive in the discharge of it’s Constitutional responsibilities.
“The right to Peaceful demonstration is also fundamental and Constitutionally guaranteed. The right to life is inalienable, fundamental, sacrosanct and no one is allowed to take the life of others except in execution of Court Judgement as provided in Chapter IV, section 33 of CFRN 1999 as amended.
“We pray for the repose of the lost soul, sympathize with the family especially his aged mother and call on the youths to give the government some time to address the issue.
In an interview, the State leader of the Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing Mazi Wenceslaus Ogbonnia called on the Enugu State government not to look the other way round in what he described as the ongoing annihilation of their brothers.

Stanley Chibuike Ngwu – South East Caucus Leader, Nigerian Youth Parliament, Coordinator General Enugu West Youth General Assembly Comr. Collins Obinna Nebo, Comr. Frank Chigozie – Zonal chairman NYCN Enugu East Senatorial zone, Comr. Peter Madu and Comr. Chinagorom Egbo – Technical Assistant to the Governor, were present during the Press Conference.
