The leadership of the foremost South East Political Watchdog, led by Comrade Sebastine Okafor has applauded the Local Government chairman of Awgu, Hon Pedro Okwudiri Nwankwo, for giving the youths a stake in his administration, stressing that, such kind gesture, would give a better future to the political leadership in the area.

“Hon Pedro Okwudiri Nwankwo has given appointments to over 15 young persons across the 11 political wards in the local government which also appears as the first in the state and equally the first in the local government council.

” The local Government chairman, also awards contracts to young persons in most of his ongoing projects which is also “a plus mark for him.”

The Group DG maintained that, giving them appointments without proper leadership training would be tantamount to zero performance and result oriented.

” The appointments given to the young persons is good but lack of proper leadership training could make nonsense of it as they needs to be guided on what leadership at that level is all about and they are quite different with students leadership or youth group leadership “.

” The youths have to undergo thorough training to aid them in bringing out their best and not giving the local government chairman a bad name.

They also urged the local government chairman, to set up an investigative panel that would probe the use of an alleged ₦1MILLION to construct a shabby Culvert by his ward Councillor.

“At this point, we urge the local government chairman, to as a matter of urgency, probe his ward Councillor over an alleged misappropriation of funds as circulated in the social media, few weeks ago, as such character negates the principles guiding the federal, state and council leadership.

“we are willing to go extra mile to ensure that, the right thing is done over the matter incase we suspect sentimental delays.”
