YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Coal City Youths Inaugurates her Awgu LG Chapter


… reiterates committment to youth Development.

In a bid to ensure youth development and inclusion in governance, an Enugu based Socio-Political Organization, Coal City Youths Development Initiative has inaugurated the Awgu Local Government Chapter of the organisation.

The event which took place at the Council Headquarters, was graced by the Executive Governor of Enugu state represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths Affairs, Hon. Johnpaul Anih and the Awgu Local Government Chairman, also represented by the Special Assistant to the chairman on Youths and Sports.

Speaking on the occasion, the Founder and the Pioneer DG of the initiative, Hon. Johnpaul Anih reiterated the state Government’s resolve to prioritize youth inclusion in governance and it’s committment to building an ultra modern Skill acquisition Center for Enugu youths.

He admonished the newly inaugurated Executives to operate inline with the tenets of the organization’s rules and charge members to continue giving their maximum support to the people oriented programmes and policies of the current administration in the state under Governor Ugwuanyi.

The SA to the Governor maintained that the state government would continue to identify skills and talents amongst Enugu youths with the aim of giving them the required support.

Also speaking, the Awgu Local Government Chairman, represented by the special assistant to the Chairman on youths and sports Comr. Joe Udoefi thanked the leaders of Coal City Youths Development Initiative for such organization and pledged maximum support of the Council to the group.

While congratulating the newly inaugurated executives, he promised to work closely with them in the local government.

In his speech, the Director General of the organization, Hon. Remigius Ozonwama described the organisation as a non partisan movement with Special focus on youth development, Youth inclusion in governance, community development, through monitoring of Government projects and policies for adequate checks and balances.

He encouraged Enugu youths to come together under the group’s umbrella for the common goal of developing the state.

Earlier in his address, The Awgu Chapter coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Pedro described the organization as the most outstanding youth group in Enugu state which has her presence in all the 17 local government areas and 260 wards of the state.

“The organization is committed to the enthronement of credible leadership and excellence in governance at all strata of government through advocacy, political awareness campaign, reorientation of the electorates, mass mobilization and active participation in the Democratic process”

Pedro further thanked the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government, Hon. Okwudili Pedro Nwankwo who he described as a good ambassador of the youth constituency for his maximum support to the organization especially at the Local Government level.

He expressed his gratitude to the founder and pioneer Director General of the organization for his kind gesture in initiating the organization that now serve as a grooming ground for new crop of leaders.

While thanking the incumbent Director General, Hon. Remigius Ozonwama for his untiring and undying commitment to upholding the noble ideals of the organization, Comrade Pedro pledged their unalloyed support for all the good policies of Governor Ugwuanyi and Awgu Local Government administrations.

The event featured the official inauguration and induction of the Awgu Executives who took oath of allegiance to propagate the ideals of the Organization, amongst other side attractions.

Highlights of the occasion was the blessing of kola, presentation of songs by the Coal City Development Initiative Choir, special rendition from members, cutting of inauguration cake, signing and returning of acceptance forms to the Director General by the newly inaugurated local government executives amongst Others.
