In a statement made available to Newsmen on Tuesday, the state Chairman of the party, Engr. Tony Udeani, described the incident as barbaric.
“It is the worst barbaric and primitive reactionary measure of a combine security agents of Nigeria against innocent unarmed citizens of the country”.
Chief Udeani argued and wondered why Nigerian police should embark on such mission.
“What happened in Enugu on Sunday between IPOB and combined security forces cannot in any way be described as a clash, but attack on “unarmed citizens”.
He further Commended Governor Ugwuanyi for his visit to the area and advised him to investigate the root cause of the incident.
The law that proscribed IPOB also made provision for arrest.
“We urge the government of Enugu state to investigate the root of this conflict and what lead to the use of force that very day.
As a Nation, we do arrest and rehabilitate Boko Haram members in the North, so we see no reason why some of this young men cannot be given such opportunities to help them have a rethink on their perception about this Nation called Nigeria”.
