YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Johnpaul Anih urges youths to take advantage of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s empowerment opportunities

As Governor Ugwuanyi commences plan for the establishment of Enugu State Ultramodern skill acqusation center.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Youths, Comrade Johnpaul Anih has identified skill acquisition and value re-orientation as cardinal means for socio-economic development of the youths.

He stated this during a Radio Chat organised for the leaders of various youth organizations in the state with the topic
” Governor Ugwuanyi’s plans for the youths and what exactly we want”.

He attributed high rate of unemployment and negative indulgences by youths to apathy on issues of skill acquisition and value system, and called for attitudinal change.

Comrade Anih urged youths to take advantage of various empowerment opportunities created by the Enugu SME Center to lift themselves out of the current economic crunch.

While reiterating resolve of the government to tour all the communities in training youths on skill aquisition for self reliance, he added that much focused will be placed on agriculture.

Contributing to the program, the State Chairman of National Youth council of Nigeria Comrade Paschal Nnaemeka Ugwu enjoined fellow Youths to articulate positive concepts aimed at effecting changes that could transform youths to idea bearers, not just looking for political appointments.

He specifically called on the leaders of various youth organizations to facilitate training opportunities for youths engagement and empowerment rather than pursuit of selfish interest.

He added that they were willing to support and work with the present administration in Enugu State to enable her succeed in actualising the vision of the state government for youths.

Rounding off the program, Comrade Johnpaul Anih advised that a “conflict management committee” be formed to broker peace among warring youth organizations in the State.
